What Is a Lawn Care Schedule Template?
It is the weekly plan behind a mowing route: which clients each crew sees on which day, in what order, and how long each stop should take. Adding up the minutes is the point. A day that looks light on paper but carries nine hours of work is where crews start rushing edges and skipping blow-offs. When the route gets past what a sheet can handle, the best lawn care routing software comparison shows what the apps add.
How to Use This Template
- 1Name the week and your company so the printout is dated.
- 2Under each day, edit the stops: client, address, service and the minutes you expect on site.
- 3Add stops with the + button and remove the ones you lose. Day totals and the weekly summary update as you type.
- 4Keep a buffer on Friday (or whichever day ends your week) for rain-outs and make-up visits.
- 5Print one copy per crew truck, or copy the schedule into a text or email for the crew lead.
Five Rules for a Tighter Route
Group by neighborhood, not by sign-up date
Put clients on the same street on the same day. Every stop you move next to another one is drive time you stop paying for.
Alternate bi-weekly clients
Split bi-weekly lawns into an A week and a B week on the same day, so each week carries a similar load.
Schedule the long jobs first
Put HOA common areas and big properties early in the day while the crew is fresh and before afternoon storms.
Leave room for rain
A day with nothing booked, or half a day, keeps one wet Tuesday from pushing the whole week back.
Write the gate code on the sheet
Access notes, dogs and no-go areas belong on the route sheet, not in someone's memory.
How often each lawn needs a visit depends on the grass and the season; the guide to how often to mow covers weekly versus bi-weekly. For the work at each stop, pair the schedule with a work order so the crew records what was done and what was used.
